Mulhouse Zoo is considered to be one of the greatest tourist attractions in France. On 13th September 1868, it was opened to the public. It is located at 51, rue du jardin zoologique, France. This Zoo of Mulhouse houses over 1,200 animals, which belong to 190 varied species. Among them, most of the species are rare and the primary concern of this zoo is to preserve those animals. Not only, different types of animals, the visitors will also come across a wide collection of plants, trees and flowers while exploring this area.
Some of the varied and rare species that can be found in this zoo include Hapalemur griseus occidentalis, Lemur fulvus albifrons, Lemur mongoz, Ateles fusciceps robustus, Lemur rubriventer, Lemur macaco flavifrons, Varecia variegata rubra, Pithecia pithecia, Cercopithecus lhoesti, Cercopithecus erythrogaster, Lemur catta, Leontopithecus rosalia chrysomelas, Lemur macaco macaco, Lemur mongoz, Saguinus imperator, Chiropotes satanas utahicki, Cebus apella xanthosternos, Saimiri sciureus sciureus, Cebuella pygmaea, Callithrix jacchus, Leontopithecus rosalia chrysomelas, Saguinus oedipus, Saguinus labiatus labiatus, Saguinus midas midas, Cercopithecus diana roloway, Cercopithecus erythrogaster, Cercopithecus hamlyni, Cercopithecus nigroviridis.
Besides them, the visitors can also watch some other special species such as, Hylobates concolor gabriellae, Cercopithecus preussi, Hylobates concolor siki, Macaca tonkeana, Hylobates concolor leucogenys, Hylobates pileatus and several others.
It is said that kangaroos, deer and birds are first among the animal collections of this park.

throughout the year more than 350000 people come here. This Zoo has acquired huge fame for participating in 40 breeding programs of Europe. Dr. Jean-Marc Lernould, who is a veterinarian, is the Director of this Zoo. There is also a shop in this Zoo.
Grand Dukes owl, American buffalo, cats manuls, Siberian tigers, otters dwarf, sea lions, brown bears, Crete goats, Prince Alfred deer, Lapland owl, Polar bears, Persian leopards, Canadian beaver, tiger cats, addax, lynx Boreal, reindeer, bharals, Canadian Wolves, Bactrian deer, pseudaxis deer, tapirs White-backed, cormorant, pelicans, camel, du Poitou donkeys, cheetahs, zebras, South American monkeys, goats, dwarfs, rove goats, sheep, Cameroon are the major attractions of this zoo.
It also houses a number of bird species that can be seen around the lake area of this Zoo. Some among them are cranes, parrots, vultures monks, vultures percnoptères, black stork, red ibis, Penguins Cape, Northern Bald Ibis, pink spatula, martin de Rothschild, touraco Fischer, parrot robust, parrot robust, hornbills bicornes and so on.
The zoo has constructed a big plot for the preservation of 3 species including the Darwin's rhea, vicuna and Magellan geese.
Its collection also includes African spurred tortoises, cassowaries, Bennett wallabies, white storks, Seychelles giant tortoises, Prince Alfred deer, radiated tortoises, etc. It is said that this Zoo of Mulhouse is world's only zoo to house gibbon concolore's 3 sub-species.
People having membership cards are offered 50% discount on the entrance fee.
