Mulhouse Elections


The Mulhouse Elections provides a detailed overview of the election procedures of Mulhouse. The political officials of Mulhouse are chosen through the process of general elections by adult franchise. The Election Commission of France has laid down certain strict rules for voting.

Only those inhabitants who are eighteen years of old and above are eligible to vote. In order to exercise one's voting rights he or she must be a French citizen. The citizen of France should be registered in the electoral roll of Mulhouse.

To register one's name in the electoral roll, the citizen must posses a proper identity card, which is a proof of French nationality. In the year of 2007, elections were held on 22nd April and 6th May for selecting the President. 10th and 17th June had been fixed for selecting legislatives.

Registration of members in the electoral roll for next year has already begun in Mulhouse. The electoral rolls take into account the change of residential address, name or marital position of the citizens. The Voter Registration Card of every member is seen before he or she is allowed to cast votes.

The Mayor of Mulhouse, Jean Marie Bockel, has decided to launch a new political party by the end of November. The members of the new party would contest the upcoming Municipal elections. The name of the new party will either be The New Left (Gauche Nouvelle) of The Modern Left (Gauche Moderne).

The municipal election of Mulhouse for 2008 will be conducted in the month of March. According to electoral law, the council will choose a Mayor and deputy Mayors or "adjoints" for efficient administration. The Mulhouse elections ensure a free and fair selection of political and administrative leaders.
