As a consequence, on 14th July people armed with weapons stormed out into the streets of France in order to rescue thousands of prisoners kept in the famous Bastille prison. After a gory fight, the prisoners were rescued and since then the day has been red lettered in the history of France.

Marseilles’s Contribution
