Football is one of the favorite Lyon sports. Its home team is known as Olympique Lyonnais. The home matches are played at Stade de Gerland stadium. For cyclists, there is the well-known Tete d'Or Park cycle track of Lyon. The 1989 World Championship was held at this venue. Cycle races are organized during the spring and fall season. The park was established in the year 1934.
