Dijon is a city located in eastern France. It is the prefecture (administrative capital) of the Cote-d'Or departement and the Bourgogne region. The city is one of France's most appealing provincial cities. The city has a rich history of serving as the capital for the dukes of Burgundy from the 11th to 15th centuries. At that time Burgundy was a place of tremendous wealth and power. Around 24,000 university students study in the city at present. The main campus of University of Burgundy is located in Dijon. Every three years, an international flower show called Florissimo is organised in the city. The city has some of the best vineyards that produce wines such as Vosne-Romanee and Gevrey-Chambertin.

From Dijon, if you want to reach Lyon, you can take any of the 12 trains that run daily to Lyon. Daily two trains run to Nice within six hours. It reaches Strasbourg within four hours. The Dijon-Bourgogne Airport is located at a distance of five kilometers from the city center. From the airport, many flights fly regularly to many French cities as well as Strasbourg and Amsterdam. The bus-station is located in the train station complex.
