Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia


Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia is one of the largest polytechnics of applied science in the whole of Finland. Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia was founded in the year 1996 by the merging of 8 institutions of higher studies, which were in charge of the City of Helsinki.

The central aim of Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia is to offer vocational higher education and execute regional development in the fields of health care and social services, culture, technology and hospitality management.

The total number of full-time students in Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia is 9,500. In addition to this, there are students who attend small and evening courses, customized teaching and open polytechnic teaching.
The Bachelor's degree programs of Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia are offered in subjects like Nursing and Social Services, while the Master's degree Programs are offered in Industrial Management and Information Technology. These are the only courses, which are conducted in English and the rest are taught in Finnish. Over 32 Bachelorīs and Masterīs degree programs can be studied at Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia.

Apart from degree programs, the services of Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia extend to modern research and development work as well as consultation services.

Helsinki Polytechnic Stadia and EVTEK have plans of merging to form Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, a brand new institute of higher education in the future.
