Omo National Park occupies an area of 4068 square kilometers. The park borders with Omo River and is one of the beautiful Ethiopian national parks. The park is home to varied species of wildlife and birdlife. A research conducted by the University of California in 1982 showed that Omo Valley is rich in archaeological remains. Description of the Omo National Park
The Rift valley of Ethiopia was formed due to volcanic activity in the region. Many rivers drain into Rift Valley. Visitors to the Omo National Park can observe varied species of wildlife. The park is home to buffaloes, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, zebras, elands, elephants, kudus, waterbucks and Lelwel hartbeest. The park is also home to 306 species of birds.
