Daraw

Daraw is one of the important Egyptian tourist destinations. This beautiful town is situated in the southern part of Kom Ombo. It is assumed that the main attraction of Daraw is the camel market. And here probably 2,000 camels are bought. Generally, on Sundays, this market becomes very lively. Most of these camels are bought from the Sudan. Up to Abu Simbel, they come in caravans, while on the remaining way they are trucked.

Again, the remains of old Contra-Ombos can be found on the west bank, close to Rakaba. Beside this, the village of El-Kubaniya still exists. Some of the former Egyptian cemeteries are situated very close to this place.

A tourist visiting this place will never have to face any difficulty regarding accommodations since this small town has many hotels near the Daraw Airport. Some among them include the Aswan Oberoi Hotel & Spa, Sofitel Old Cataract Aswan and Hotel New Cataract Aswan.
