Cairo International Film Festival

Cairo International Film Festival is one of the most significant festivals not only in Egypt, but in the whole world. The festival started off in the year 1976 to celebrate the contribution of Egypt in the world cinema. It is rated as one of the top 11 festivals of the world by the International Federation of Film Producer's Association.

This International Film Festival of Cairo gives ample opportunity to the local filmmakers. It started off as a relatively small festival, but with every passing year it has acquired the shape of a grand event. The government of Egypt every year allocates a large amount of fund for this festival.

Cairo remains in a festive mood during the International Film Festival. Grand receptions are organized in magnificent ancient Egyptian buildings which act as venues of Cairo International Film Festival. The ancient backdrop provides an apt background for the drama in the films. The experience is thrilling. Foreign film delegates from all the corners of the world come to participate in this event. The city is beautifully decorated and comes alive during this festival.
