The German University in Cairo (GUC) is a private University in Egypt. It was founded in collaboration with the State Universities of Ulm and Stuttgart. The University also received patronage from the Ministry of Science, Research and Arts, the Arab/German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. It also received support from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Germany and the German Embassy in Cairo.

The Computer Center of German University in Cairo trains the staff and students and also provides support in both academic and non-academic fields. GUC library is a member of the South West Library Association in Germany. The students can access the library network through an on line information system. The management has ambitious plans to shift the library to a 10 storey huge building with state of art facilities. The campus of the German University in Cairo has all kinds of facilities including conference center, lecture halls, laboratories, cafeterias, playgrounds, classrooms, parking spaces and many more.
