Bayt El Suhaymi is a very interesting Islamic monument in the Fatimid area located close to the Khan el Khalili. In Arabic language, Bayt means "house", thus Bayt El Suhaymi is a historical house that has been conserved. In 1648 A.D, the oldest part of the structure was constructed by Abdel Wahab el Tablawy. Later in the year 1796, the house was acquired by Sheikh Ahmed as-Suhaymi. He renovated it by incorporating a number of the neighboring houses.
After its renovation, Bayt El Suhaymi in Cairo became a fine example of a rich private house that dates back to seventeenth century Egypt. While visiting the house,

Bayt El Suhaymi at Cairo lies in a narrow corridor in Fatimid. On the left hand side of Darb El Asafar in Cairo, it is the first building. In the year 1997, the building was restored under the patronage of the Arab Fund for Economic Development as division of the Bayt El Suhaymi Area Documentation and Restoration. After entering the house one comes to the sahn of the house. The sahn is actually the courtyard of the house. Brown colored mashrabeya windows are built all around the building including the upper floors.
