Ain Shams University

Ain Shams University is the third oldest Egyptian university. This university was founded in July 1950 under its initial name of Ibrahim
Pasha University. The university has always played the role of a major, scientific and cultural organization for developing academic knowledge in Cairo.

Ain Shams University in Cairo was set up in response to the increased demand of higher education. The Cairo University and the Alexandria University could not meet the demands of the growing need of higher education. During the starting years, Ain Shams University comprised a number of recognized faculties and academic institutes, which now have developed into university.

Education in Ain Shams University is carried out in seven campuses, all located in Great Cairo. The university administration and the faculties of Arts, Law and Science are all based in the main campus in El-khalifa El Mamoon Street, Abassia. While the faculties of Commerce, Al-Alsun languages, Computer and Information Sciences, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Institute of Postgraduate Childhood and Institute of Environmental Studies and Research are located in the second campus on the opposite side of the El-khalifa El Mamoon street. At Abassia Campus the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing are situated. Faculties of Engineering, Agricultural Studies and Specific Education are located on separate campuses in Abassia, Shoubra El-Kheima and Heliopolis respectively.

Courses in Ain Shams University provide degrees in undergraduate, graduate and post graduate level. The value of a certificate from this university is considered to be of a high standard. Ain Shams University has achieved steady success over the years. Today, the university is considered as one of the best educational institutions in the country that matches international standards in all respect.
