Aalborg is a city in Denmark. Its settlements began around 700 AD. Aalborg flourished during the middle ages and became one of the largest cities in Denmark. It received town privileges in 1342. The Aalborg Aerodrome was captured by the German paratroopers during the German invasion of Denmark in 1940 and became the first city to be captured by paratroopers. Being the fourth largest city in Denmark, Aalborg is an industrial and commercial center in the country.
