Zagreb TV Tower is one of the important means of communication which was built in the year 1973. This tower is situated on the top of Mount Sljeme, which is about 1035 meters high. The TV tower functions as a telecommunication center that helps to broadcast channels in all parts of Croatia.
During the 1991 Croatian War of Independence, the tower was attacked by the Yugoslavian Air Force. The television transmitting equipments of the Zagreb TV

Tower were damaged significantly by the missile attack. The tower was therefore unable to broadcast programs for some time. A few years later, the TV tower was repaired.
The television tower of Zagreb is 169 meters in height and the material used in the construction of the tower is reinforced concrete. The tower has not been opened for the public. However, at an altitude of 75meters, a space has been left to set up a restaurant sometime in the future.
