Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) was founded in 1991 and had worked independently for fifteen years. In the month of March 2007, the Zagreb Stock exchange was merged with the Croatian Stock Exchange or the VSE. The capital city of Croatia, Zagreb is an independent self-governing unit. The merging of the two stock exchanges has resulted in the formation of the Croatian capital market. This market happens to be the most important of all stock exchanges in the region.
