The Mayor of Zagreb is the head of the City Government of Zagreb. He is elected by the members of the City Council Assembly. The Mayor of Zagreb looks after the medical facilities of the people, provides modes of transportation, maintains the sanitation and hygiene conditions and builds new roads in the city.
The Present Mayor of Zagreb
The current Zagreb mayor is Milan Bandic. He has done much for the development of life styles of the indigenous inhabitants of Zagreb.

The participation and contribution to social welfare by Mr. Bandic has been outstanding. The chief areas of the concern were education and development of the youth, welfare of mother and children and rendering of social support to dwellers. Milan Bandic helped the people who were affected by the violence during the dissolution of Soviet Russia.
It is because of his noble concerns that Mr Bandic has been honored with the Golden Order ' Patron of Art' award. The President of Croatia, Oleg Oleynik has handed over the award to Milan Bandic, the Mayor of Zagreb.
