Maksimir Stadium


Maksimir Stadium is one of the most popular sport arenas in Zagreb, Croatia. It is situated in the east of the Croatian city of Zagreb. It is a part of the big sports and recreational complex that is situated in the southern part of the Maksimir Park. Maksimir Stadium was inaugurated on 5th May 1912. The stadium is spread over an area of around 276,440 square meters. It can accommodate up to 40, 000 people at a time. Initially, it was the home of the leading Croatian football team named Dinamo Zagreb. The stadium is an ideal place for the people who love to watch live football matches. Many of the games of Croatian national football team are held over here.

This exceptional procedure of ticket purchasing allows
the audience to understand how the match will look like from a particular sector of the stadium. On the basis of this, tickets can be purchased. This system is known as Metroengine.

However, since the past couple of years, the Maksimir Stadium is undergoing renovation. Before that it had undergone modifications during the period of 1986-87, especially for the arrangement of Universiade Games. In 1998, reconstruction began for expanding the area of the stadium and making it a fulltime football stadium. Branko Kincl, a well-known architect looked after the designing part if the stadium. It is believed that after the completion of this project, the stadium will be able to accommodate around 60, 000 spectators at a time.
