Coat of Arms of Zagreb


The Coat of Arms of Zagreb is a shield like emblem, which symbolizes the historic coat of arms, used by the county of Zagreb. As such, Zagreb is administratively independent from the rest of Croatia and hence, it maintains a separate flag and coat of arms from the rest of Croatia.

The Description of Coat of Arms of Zagreb

The shield of the coat of arms is divided into four quarters. The top left quarter contains the picture of a crowned leopard. The top right quarter contains red and silver alternate boxes and the down right quarter contains green and white alternate lines. The lower left quarters display a running animal and a yellow
star.

Zagreb Flag

The Flag of Zagreb has a ratio of 2:1, where the shorter side is used for hoisting the flag. The center of flag contains the Coat of Arms of Zagreb. The rest of the flag has horizontal green and white stripes of equal dimensions. There are three green stripes two alternate white stripes. This is the county flag of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.

The flag of Zagreb can be hoisted on special days and occasions such as on the Day of the county, on public events and on the meeting days in the county.
