Animafest is a film festival in Zagreb, which is exclusively an animated film, festival. This festival has been on of the most happening events in Zagreb since it was first held in 1972. On the occasion of this Animated film festival in Zagreb some prestigious awards are given out to people who have made significant contribution to the world of animation or have stood out with their talents in the field of animation. Competitions and Awards at Animafest
The competition for the feature length animated film and the short animated film is held every alternate year. Previously though, the Animafest was exclusively a biennial event in Zagreb. The awards, which are distributed in Zagreb, include the Golden Zagreb Award, the Audience Award and the Grand Prix Award. The Golden Zagreb Award is given to the film with the best projecting at pitching forum and the Grand Prix award is for the best feature film of the competition. The audience too has an important say and this is the reason why the Audience award is given to the film, which bags the maximum audience vote.
