Zagreb administration is an integral part of the whole administrative scenario of Croatia. Zagreb, being the capital city of Croatia, has been given a special status in terms of administrative independence. The administrative body has been stratified into two departments, the city government or the executive department. The city government is headed by the Mayor.
The members of the City Assembly of Zagreb are the directly elected by the people of Zagreb. The members of the City Assembly in turn elect the Mayor of the city. Also the eleven members of the city government are elected by the City Assembly of Zagreb. There are total

three city services, twelve city offices and three city bureaus under the Mayor of the city.
Croatia follows an exclusively Republican form of government which is headed by the President of Croatia. The Prime Minister is nominated by the Croatian President from among the most voted members of the Parliament. It is the duty of the government of Zagreb to put forward the legislation, assert a decree and propose the state budget.
The Zagreb administration has been a huge success and the self-government is just another proof of the city being extremely successful as the capital of Croatia.
