Shek O Beach is located in the southern region of Hong Kong. It is one of the most frequented beaches of Hong Kong. Shek O is basically a village that faces the South China Sea. The name actually stands for ‘rocky bay’. The Shek O consists of Shek O Country Park and Cape D'Aguilar.
The exotic scenic beauty of the Shek O Beach of Hong Kong attracts tourists from various corners of the world. The pleasurable climate has also made this beach a base for the production of many Canto-pop MVs. The quality of water is fair for which it has been given a title of Grade 2.

The beach is used for water sports like swimming. Moreover, there are cliffs that are used for climbing. The fine beach condition also makes it an ideal place for barbecue. The tourists can step into the beach side restaurants.
Hong Kong Shek O Beach can be accessed by buses number 309 from Central, 91 from Diamond Hill MTR and 9 from Shau Kei Wan. However, bus number 309 from Central can be availed only on Sundays. There is car parking facility for the tourists. The tranquility of the place is one of the major features of this beach.
