Sai Kung Peninsula

Sai Kung Peninsula is termed as the visitors’ paradise in the whole of Hong Kong. The place is less developed and allows the visitors to enjoy the rustic countryside and the coastline. The peninsula is one of the new territories of Hong Kong. The Sai Kung town lies south to the peninsula. The offshore islands, bluffs and the jagged headlines of the Sai Kung Peninsula in Hong Kong are wonderful places to visit.

The peninsula is surrounded with country parks and soft sandy bays. The Sai Kung town is a shipping village, still retaining the pastoral features of the village. The streets of the town are crowded with restaurants serving exquisite seafood dishes while the ship side is
crowded with boats. These boats enable the visitors to enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the seacoast. The visitors can also enjoy the beauty of the sea and the mountains from the Sai Kung Country park by walking the Mac Lehose Trail. The country park can be reached by bus or taxi, which takes fifteen minutes from the town.

The Sai Kung town also towers the Sheong Yiu Folk Museum, which stands amidst the 150 year old terraces. The museum is an interesting place to visit as it exhibits different stages of traditional village life. The Sai Kung Peninsula is worthy of visit as it still retains the traditional village lifestyle and is therefore counted as one among the major attractions in Hong Kong.
