Hong Kong Polytechnic University has a long history. The university is extremely popular among students from Hong Kong and abroad for providing excellent facilities for education of international standards. The date of the establishment of the university goes back to the 1st of August, 1972, when it was founded as the Hong Kong Polytechnic University in the place of the erstwhile Government Trade College and the Hong Kong Technical College.
