Hong Kong Marathon is one of the most important sporting events, which are held in the Hong Kong city. The race is organized by Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association. It is being held since 1997 and has become an integral part of the events calendar of Hong Kong. It include races for both men and women participants.
The Hong Kong Marathon has become much bigger since its initial days. The 1997 event experienced a participation of 1,000 people who ran the distance. The number has gone above 40,000 in the recent years. The race has participants from across the globe and the foreign runners have to pay an entry fee to register themselves for the race. The Hong Kong Marathon starts at 7 am and lasts for 3 hours.
