Lantau Peak


The Lantau Peak is a mountain of Hong Kong. It is also known as the Fung Wong Shan. The peak is also a well known hiking destination of the place. It is considered to be the second highest peak of Hong Kong. In traditional Chinese, this mountain is known as the Phoenix Mountain.

The Lantau Peak of Hong Kong is located on the Lantau Island. The scenic beauty of the peak attracts tourists from different parts of the globe. The spectacular sight of sunrise from the summit is something worth seeing. One can reach the peak of Lantau by the Lantau Trail.
The Hong Kong Lantau Peak is situated at an elevation of 3,064 feet above sea level. Hikers can start their journey early in the morning to have the exotic view of the sunrise. They start climbing from the point called the Youth Hostel, which is located near Ngong Ping. The Lantau Peak consists of two peaks. One is known as the Fung Shan and the other is called Wong Shan. Fung Shan means male phoenix mountain and Wong Shan means female phoenix mountain.

The peak of Lantau is a must see destination for the tourists visiting the city of Hong Kong.
