Kowloon Park


Kowloon Park located in Hong Kong city, China was once a military base for the Indian as well as the British troops. The total area, over which the Kowloon Park, Hong Kong is stretched, measures to 14 hectares. The Kowloon Park is located right at the heart of the famous Tsim Cha Tsui. The park is home to a bird lake, beautiful Chinese gardens, a banyan tree court and a maze. The Kowloon Park of Hong Kong also houses many sports complexes as well as the Hong Kong Museum of History and the Urban Council Health Education Exhibition and Resources Center.

The Kowloon Park is situated at a distance of a few minutes on the northern directions of the Natrhan Road. The Chinese Garden at the Kowloon Park manifests a magnificent chess garden, a lotus pond and an aviary with an exclusive collection of some of the rare species of birds. One of the prime features of the Kowloon Park is the Sculpture Walk, the open air museum. The museum offers a large collection of the local sculptures and other artistic masterpieces like the bronze statue that was constructed by Sir Eduardo Paolozzi.

The Kowloon Park is a place of tourist attraction, where people gather to relax and unwind among the lush greenery of the park. The
piazza at the Kowloon Park in Hong Kong hosts many concerts. There are also two playgrounds for kids, which are specially designed for children under the age of 9 years. The Discovery Playground at the Kowloon Park is reminiscent of the canon emplacements and restored forts. A mini soccer field is also present at the park, which also functions as the court for handball.

The Kowloon Park houses a total of 140 birds belonging to 38 species. The park is also famous for the range of indoor activities, which can be arranged at the place. There is a swimming pool that can accommodate almost 1500 tourists at a time. This swimming pool is one of the best equipped pools in the entire city of Hong Kong and it. This swimming pool has often been the site for some of the major competitions related to swimming. The sports club at the Kowloon Park hosts a large number of events like volleyball, basketball, badminton and handball. It also contains a dance room, squash courts and a fitness center.

The Kowloon Park remains open from 6 o'clock in the morning till midnight. The art and crafts stalls are usually put up on the Sundays for the purpose of entertaining the guests and also for the martial arts demonstrations.
