There are no complicated entry procedures for Getting in Hong Kong. Entry requirement to the city is very easy to follow. Citizens of most United Nations registered countries do not require a visa go to Hong Kong.

The best time for getting in Hong Kong is in the month of winter. This is particularly true for visitors accustomed to colder climes. Citizens of tropical countries may visit throughout the year. The climate of Hong Kong is sub-tropical. The urban atmosphere has a high humidity quotient during the summer months. Temperatures may reach up to 30° Centigrade during summer months. The temperature may dip to 8° Centigrade during the winter season.

The city of Hong Kong was once a British Overseas Territory. Hong Kong went back to Chinese control on July 1, 1997. The city still retains a distinct level of independence and has entry procedures different than that of mainland China. The formal name of Hong Kong city is Hong Kong Special Administrative Region or Hong Kong SAR.
The most common and frequented way to gain entry to Hong Kong is through Hong Kong International Airport. The airport is one of the busiest air terminals in the world. Persons entering Hong Kong SAR through Hong Kong Airport may take the fast Airport Express to the city.

Persons arriving from mainland China enjoy the convenience of a ferry ride to the city of Hong Kong. The three ferry terminals - China Ferry Terminal, Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and Macau Ferry Terminal allows ready access to Hong Kong by sea.

Visitors may also arrive in Hong Kong by road transport from the Chinese city of Shenzhen. The Lo Wu checkpoint is the most popular among the 5 checkpoints. The other 4 international immigration checkpoints are Man Kam To, Shenzhen Bay, Lok Ma Chau, and Sha Tau Kok. Regular public transport is available. Travelers to Hong Kong may also arrive in the city by train. The Kowloon Canton Railway company operates regular train services between Beijing and Hong Kong.
