The English School Foundation Hong Kong is a non-profit private body that administers 20 primary and tertiary level educational institutions. A majority of these institutions exist in Hong Kong. The English School Foundation Hong Kong is also popularly known as ESF.

A substantial portion of the total students among all 20 schools are foreign born and possess foreign nationality. The English School Foundation prides itself in accommodating pupils of more than 50 nationalities.
The students of English School Foundation Hong Kong follow an educational syllabus of the National Curriculum of England and Wales. The syllabus is modified to suit the Hong Kong context. Increased

academic competition has compelled the foundation authorities to switch to the International Baccalaureate Organization. This is being done in phases and the educational Years 12 and 13 have already switched to the new educational system.
The English School Foundation of Hong Kong receives funding from the Hong Kong SAR government. The schools also charge a tuition fee from its pupils. Fees are comparatively high compared to local schools in Hong Kong. Demand for admission to ESF is high due to the spectrum and quality of knowledge imparted here.
As a part of the extra-curricular activities, the school conducts language programs and sports events.
