The Canadian International School Hong Kong is legally enabled to grant educational credits for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or OSSD. The Canadian International School of Hong Kong is separated into two teaching divisions. The Lower School comprises students until Grade 6. There are a total of 630 students in the lower classes. The Lower School students comprise about 60% of the total student strength of the school. The Lower School is headed by Principal Alan Dick. The Upper School comprises students until Grade 12 and is headed by Principal John Jalsevac.
Students studying at the Upper School level undergo an intensive learning experience on compulsory subjects comprising English, Mathematics, Social Studies and Science, among others. Subjects like Chinese studies, Music, Drama, and French are also compulsory. The Advanced Placement or AP programs are offered to the pupils who wish to study further in the North American continent.

The admission procedure of the School encompasses two separate levels. One is for the Pre Reception level where the applicant must be of 3 years age on 31st December. The other is Reception Class where the candidate should be 4 years old by 31st of December.
