Hong Kong By Ferry makes for an enjoyable experience. Hong Kong is a coastal city and consists of a number of islands included within the area of the metropolis. The ferry services to Hong Kong are available from mainland China and also from Macau.

Traveling to Hong Kong by ferry from Macau takes only 1 hour to complete. The journey takes place through the waters of the South China Sea. A marine hydrofoil vessel is used. Passengers of ferry travel to Hong Kong may board at any one of three ferry terminals present in the city. These terminals are the China Ferry Terminal, Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and the Macau Ferry Terminal.

The China Ferry Terminal is closest to the Hong Kong business district of Kowloon. Business persons prefer the China Ferry Terminal due to its proximity to the commercial district. Traders visiting Hong Kong normally use the Tuen Mun Ferry Pier to enter the city. Regular ferry services are available to Hong Kong from the Chinese mainland city of Shenzhen.
The Macau Ferry Terminal offers the facility of a marine TurboJet ride to Shenzhen Airport in the mainland. The ferry services in Hong Kong are available round the clock. There are regular TurboJet services to Macau.

Star Ferry

The Star Ferry service is an iconic public marine passenger service transporting passengers between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island. The marine ferry service is efficient and cheap.

The Star Ferry service operates its service on the waters of Victoria Harbor. The premier ferry service consists of a fleet of 12 ferries operating at regular predetermined time intervals. Each ferry has a 'surname' of 'star'. Ferry vessels like Northern Star, Solar Star, Shining Star and Day Star travel between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.

The Star Ferry service is a tourist attraction in itself. More than 25 million passengers use the ferry every year. Fares are less than HK$ 2.
