Hong Kong Buses are the most commonly availed transport facilities in the region. They are mainly used for public transport and cover almost all the places of Hong Kong. Buses also ply to the Southern District in Hong Kong. There are general buses as well as mini buses that are available for public transportation. The buses in Hong Kong operate 24 hours a day.
Hong Kong buses are operated by five bus companies. The names of the companies are as follows:

- KMB
- New Lantao Bus
- New World First Bus
- City Bus
Each of these bus companies have buses plying on particular routes. New Territories, Hong Kong Island and Kowloon are covered by City Bus, New World First Bus and KMB. Long Win Bus Company has its buses operating in north Lantau and to the airport, whereas New Lanto

Bus has buses plying in the Lantau Island. There are innumerable buses that are operated by each bus company.
There are also feeder bus services that are operated in the region, mainly to the railway stations. There are air-conditioned as well as general buses that are available in Hong Kong. The frequency of the buses is quite good.
Minibuses are also seen on the roads of Hong Kong. There are red as well as green minibuses. The routes of red minibuses are not fixed and passengers can board and get down of the buses at any place. On the other hand, green minibuses follow a specific route and a particular fare. The fares of minibuses are slightly more than general buses. Like the general buses, Octopus cards are also accepted in minibuses.
The passenger fares of Hong Kong buses are quite reasonable. In general buses, the prices range from HK$1.20 to HK$45. The fares depend upon the distance that is to be traveled. In minibuses, the fares range from HK$2 to HK$22.50.
