Hong Kong Beaches


Hong Kong beaches feature an exceptionally beautiful long coastline. Their pristine beauty draws a large number of tourists every year. However, since the weather of the region is hot, it is always advisable to carry sun glasses.

The Hong Kong beaches are used for water sports like swimming. Some beaches like the Shek O Beach can also be used for barbecues. The hotels on the beaches of Hong Kong provide good accommodation to the tourists.

Some of the Beaches in Hong Kong

  • Golden Beach: This artificial beach is on the Castle Peak Road of the New Territories. It can be reached by KMB buses number 53 from Tsuen Wan and 52M from Kwai Fong. The beach has got a shopping place, a volleyball court as well as refreshment kiosks.

  • Shek O Beach: Located in the southern region of Hong Kong, this beach is used for swimming and barbecue. The cliffs of the beach are used for climbing. This beach can be reached by buses number 309 from Central, 9 from Shau Kei Wan and 91 from Diamond Hill MTR.
  • Hung Shing Yeh Beach: Located on Lamma Island, this beach has got facilities for barbecue, refreshment kiosk and rooms for changing purpose and shower. One has to reach Yung Shue Wan from Central District by ferry and take a walk of 20 minutes for getting to the Hung Shing Yeh Beach.

  • Tong Fuk: Tong Fuk Beach is of great attraction whereby the visitors can rent village houses for spending some leisure time.

  • Deep Water Bay: The water has got a fair quality in the Deep Water Bay. There are facilities for barbecue, refreshment kiosk and golf course. It is connected to the Repulse Bay by Marechiato Seaview Promenade.

  • Repulse Bay: This beach is known for its fine sands and has facilities for water sports activities and restaurants. It can be accessed by bus or taxi from the Central District.

  • Turtle Cove Beach: Located on the western part of the Tai Tam Reservoir, this small beach has got facilities for showers, changing rooms, playground and barbecue.
