Lion Dances are an inherent part of the culture of the region. During various festivals of Hong Kong, the performers wear colorful costumes of large lion that is a mark of good luck. The lion is considered to be of great importance according to the Chinese mythology. This dance is believed to keep away evil spirits. There are two types of lion costumes worn by the performers: northern and southern. Northern lion is very furry with yellow color whereas the southern lion is less furry and has got a more colorful body.

A unique program offered by the Hong Kong Tourism Board is also of great help in knowing about the art, culture and entertainment of Hong Kong. It is known as 'Meet the People'. People come to meet artisans of Hong Kong and know about their styles. Besides, programs related to Chinese tea ceremony, principles of feng shui and shopping are also organized.

For the people's entertainment in Hong Kong, there are a large number of pubs, discos and cinema halls in the city.
