Santiago People


Santiago people are commonly known as Santiaguenos. Most of the inhabitants of Santiago belongs to the Spanish ancestry. The ethnic groups of the city consist of the mixed European and Amerindian descents.

The major section of Santiago people includes the followers of Roman Catholicism, though traditional Protestants and a number of fundamentalists also co-exist in Santiago.

As the largest city of Chile, Santiago is the home to around 5 million people. The city holds almost 35% of the total Chilean population.
