Vancouver is a Canadian city in the province of British Columbia. It is the third largest metropolitan center in the country and the largest in western Canada. The city is considered as the third largest film production center for US-based productions in North America. Ranked 56th as the most expensive city to live in, Vancouver is also the second most expensive in the country. The city governed by the ten-member Vancouver City Council, has been listed among the top five in worldwide rankings for quality of life. The city is home to people of many ethnic backgrounds and religions.

Area & Location: Situated adjacent to the Strait of Georgia, Vancouver forms part of Burrard Penninsula. It covers a total area of 114.67 sq. km. The city is located at 49º 14' 33.39? Latitude North and 123º 5' 57.84? Longitude West. Around 602,231 people reside in the city.
