Theatre is one of the chief modes of entertainment for the natives of Ottawa and the city boasts of a vivid and highly developed theatrical culture and an apt audience for the same. There are several theater companies in Ottawa bringing in unique theater works to the audiences.
The Odyssey Theater is one of the renowned theater companies of Canada offering great entertainment to the audiences through their various shows. Puppetry, bouffon, clown shows, pageantry and mask shows are the common items of the Odyssey Theater. The Odyssey group is famous for its stage productions which present a unique blend of imagination and amusement.
The Ottawa Little Theater is another popular non-professional community hall of the city. The theatre organizes eight theatrical productions in a year and each of these shows span over a period of sixteen evening show. From the month of September to May, only one show is held. The original building of the

theatre was destroyed in a fire in 1970 and the present auditorium can occupy up to 510 people.
Various types of season packages are also available for the audiences. The theater also organizes different courses on The Canadian One Act Playwriting Competition, The School of the Theatre and other such training workshops. The upcoming auditions in the Ottawa Little Theater include:

Each of the plays at the Ottawa Little Theatre runs for a maximum of three weeks and shows are held from Tuesday to Saturday at 8 pm. Exclusive matinee shows are also held on second Sunday of each theatrical presentation.
Both these theatres, the Ottawa Little Theatre and Odyssey Theater contribute significantly towards the growth and improvement of the theatrical scenario of Ottawa.
