OC Transpo was established in 1973 and is a public transit service operating in the city of Ottawa, Nepean, Rockcliffe, Gloucester, Kanata, Vanier and Orleans. OC Transpo function
is to deliver safe, comfortable and reliable service to the residents at a cost effective price. The use of transit emphasizes on better quality of life by minimizing discharge of green house gas in the city and cutting down on traffic congestion.

OC Transpo operates under the guidelines of the Director of the Transit Services who is the concerned person for the entire operation of the transit service. Public opinions are also incorporated while implementing the policies. OC Transpo is highly committed to the customers and functions according to the changing needs and always accepts new trends of transport development.

The rural transit service has started from September 3, 2002 in communities namely Cumberland Village, Kars, Leitrim, Navan, Manotik and many more. OC Transpo is the largest project in the history of transportation in Ottawa. The service of OC Transpo operates 22 hours a day providing rapid transit link across many urban areas of the city.

The transit stations are located in the convenient places near to commercial areas and major shopping centers. The Ottawa OC Transpo provides quick and effective transit connection to the O-train, Ottawa International Airport as well as the inter-city buses.
