The Ottawa International Airport is the second best airport in the world. It offers excellent customer service and has recently won the Airport Service Quality award (ASQ) at Dubai. Controlled by the Airports Council International it serves about five million passengers all over the world. A new terminal building was opened on 12th October, 2003 to accommodate more passengers.
The Ottawa International Airport is situated six miles from the city centre. It is also known as Macdonald-Cartier International Airport and serves Ottawa and Ontario. Initially known as CFB Ottawa South, the Ottawa International Airport has the advantage of US border pre-clearance. This airport is the hub for several flights flying to the eastern Arctic. The airport has two airfields linked by a taxiway. The north field of the airport is meant for both private and commercial airlines whereas the south field comprises of two runways which are meant exclusively for jet airliners.
