The Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival is a major event of Canada attracting a large number of paddlers and viewers. The festival represents a unique cultural blend of Canada. The thrill and excitement of the dragon boat race fills the air. The festival is organized for two days at the Mooney’s Bay. People from different parts of Canada partake in this grand Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival. The festival would be celebrating its fifteenth anniversary in 2008. No fees are required for admission to the event.
In 2007, the event was held on June 23rd and 24th at its usual location. The festival is a celebration of team spirit and cultural diversities as people of different

communities pair up to form a team.Around one hundred and eighty teams consisting of four thousand and five hundred paddlers participated in the race. In addition, the Ottawa Dragon Boat Race Festival has also raised funds for various noble causes.
In the year 2007, the Festival had provided financial assistance to the local charitable organizations of Ottawa Senators Foundation Rogers House, Centre Town Laundry Co-op, Special Olympics and Junior Achievement of Eastern Ontario. Around 70,000 people attended this mega event of Ottawa in 2007. Several local corporations and people from outside the town visit the place to enjoy the excitement of the game.
