Confederation Building Ottawa

The Confederation Building Ottawa is famous for its exquisite architectural style. Situated on the western side of the Parliament Building, the Confederation Building of Ottawa is home to a number of members of Parliament and civil servants. Initially, this place was a business center and also contained a number of homes. Clarence Burritt was the architect of the new building. Founded in 1929, it had many workers mainly from the agricultural department of Ottawa.

In 1927, the foundation stone of the building was laid by Canada's Governor General. Considered to be a part of the Parliament Hill of Ottawa, the Confederation Building of Ottawa is the main office of the members of parliament. The Treasury Board Secretariat and the Finance Department of Canada has taken over the building from agricultural department of Canada. The unique architecture of the building draws a number of tourists in Ottawa.

The Confederation Building in Ottawa will be given a completely new look in 2008. In order to increase the office area, the space between the Justice Building and the Confederation Building will be filled. The Supreme Court of Canada also lies very near to the building. Over time, Confederation Building, Ottawa has gained immense popularity due to its unique gothic architecture.
