Canadian Tulip Festival



The Canadian Tulip Festival is the biggest tulip festival of the world. This is one of the most important annual cultural events of Canada where a large number of visitors come. This event
generally takes place in Gatineau and Ottawa and is held on three weekends in the month of May. The festival was the brainchild of Malak Karsh, a Canadian photographer.

Apart from the display of tulips, the Canadian Tulip Festival has been featuring a number of outdoor music concerts from its inception. In the year 2007, the festival was reorganized to focus primarily on encouraging global friendship; the true symbolic significance of the tulip flower.

The Canadian Tulip Festival of 2007 emphasized on raising funds for War Child Canada, a non governmental organization.The Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa is celebrated in a grand manner. The festival is held in Commissioners Park, Major's Hill Park and Parliament Hill of Ottawa. Every year, a new theme is developed for the carnival. The Canadian Tulip Festival includes variety of themes like world flower celebration, tulip experience, celebration of friendship and peace and many more.

Many a times, this festival emphasizes on providing financial assistance to various war victims, poverty-stricken people through NGO's. Representatives of many countries also participate in this grand event of Canada. This festival draws participants and spectators from all parts of the world.
