Canada Agriculture Museum

The Canada Agriculture Museum is a major attraction of the Ottawa city. Founded in 1920, by Dr. E.S. Hopkins, the museum is situated at the Central Experiment Farm of Ottawa.
The agricultural collections of the National Museums of Canada, Canada Science and Technology Museum and the National Museum of Man's History Division were combined together to form the rich collection of the Canada Agriculture Museum.

Situated in the Prince of Wales Drive of Ottawa, the Canada Agriculture Museum features a working farm illustrating the progress of farming science in Canada. The museum states that how the development in technology and farming science has changed the Canadian lives.

On 12th October 1983, the museum was opened officially. At that time it was known as the Agriculture Museum. From then onwards it expanded and included about seven buildings for administrative purposes. The museum displays large stocks of horses, beef cattle, poultry, sheep, pigs and goats. It also has a total of fifty diary herds.

In the year 2000, the museum's name was changed to the Canada Agriculture Museum. In the month of May, every year, the Canada Agriculture Museum holds "Sheep Shearing Festival". The animal farms remain opened all throughout the year but exhibitions take place only in the month of October and March. The museum holds public events, live programs and different kinds of exhibits for the Canadian natives.
