Varna Necropolis is a fascinating burial site that dates back to the prehistoric period. Description of Varna Necropolis
The burial ground was undiscovered until 1972 when an excavation research team accidentally discovered it. Nearly 300 graves have been retrieved from the necropolis in Varna. Three types of graves are found

here, which includes human skeletons with folded legs positioned sideways, skeletons lying straight on the back and several symbolic graves. Along with the human skeleton several potteries, gold and metallic objects are also found at the burial ground.
Most of the artifacts of Varna Necropolis are displayed at the Varna Archeological Museum and the National Historical Museum. The gold objects found at the site are the prized possession of Bulgaria. These artifacts are often displayed at several museums across the world. Italy, France, Germany, Canada and Israel are some of the countries that had the privilege of displaying these marvelous artifacts of Varna Necropolis.
