Sofia Municipalities


The capital city of Bulgaria, Sofia has been divided into municipalities. The Sofia Municipalities are a part of the Sofia Local Government. The municipalities are headed by Mayors, who are assisted by Deputy Mayors in governing the area. The members of a municipality are duly elected by the municipal assembly. The Bankya municipality of Sofia is famous for the mineral springs and baths that are generally used for therapeutic process. The present mayor of Sofia is the native of this municipality.

In the municipality Vitosha, there are some important landmarks such as the Boyana Church, National Historical Museum, and Dragalevtsi Monastery. Education in this place centers round the eight schools, committed in imparting quality education to the youths.

The urban municipality of Lozenets has many attractive new buildings in the area. The streets are very well maintained and the place allows people a direct view of the Vitosha Mountains. There are few popular landmarks in this municipality, which are maintained by the municipality.

Sofia municipalities are managed by the state policies and the self- governments of the citizens. It also owns real estates as it is the juridical body. The municipalities of Sofia are dedicated in improving the city's infrastructures and maintaining them.
