The Bankya municipality of Sofia is famous for the mineral springs and baths that are generally used for therapeutic process. The present mayor of Sofia is the native of this municipality.
In the municipality Vitosha, there are some important landmarks such as the Boyana Church, National Historical Museum, and Dragalevtsi Monastery. Education in this place centers round the eight schools, committed in imparting quality education to the youths.
