Lozenets is a municipality in the southern regions of the Bulgarian capital Sofia. According to the 2006 census, approximately 45,630 people inhabited the municipality of Lozenets. The municipality is characterized by a number of residential buildings, cultural centers and educational institutions. The municipality of Lozenets at Sofia has 3 chitalishta (libraries) and 13 schools.
Lozenets has a number of new constructions that exist with older apartment blocks. The apartment blocks were built during Communist rule.
