The Ivan Vazov National Theater, Sofia, stands as one of the most enchanting places of entertainment in the city of Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria. This theatre was established in the 1904 and is the oldest theatre in the country. It was known by the name of Krastyu Sarafov between 1952 and 1962, before being renamed after the famous writer Ivan Vazov. Located right at the centre of the city, the theatre has the famous City Garden just opposite to it.

It was rebuilt by famous German architect Martin Dulfer in 1929 after fire damaged it. This theatre in Sofia was built all over again after extensive damages that were inflicted during the World War II. The theater underwent minor reconstruction during the early 1970s. An extensive €100,000 restoration project was sanctioned for the Ivan Vazov National Theatre in the year 2006.
The Ivan Vazov National Theatre at Sofia has three stages in the building. There is an arrangement of 750 seats in front of the main stage. The smaller stage has a seat arrangement of 120 seats. There is also an additional stage on the fourth floor of the building with only 70 seats. The Ivan Vazov National Theatre attracts a large number of audiences for all its shows.
