In Sofia, basketball is one of the major sport activities. Sofia has a number of sporting complexes that has basketball grounds for the players. as a part of the Akademik Sofia sports club, in 1947. Later, out of a deal with the Russian oil company 'LUKoil', the basketball academy was renamed as Lukoil Academic. Accomplishments of PBC Lukoil Academics include winning FIBA Europe Regional Challenge Cup Conference in 2002 and Bulgarian Cup for six times.
PBC CSKA Sofia
PBC CSKA Sofia is a professional basketball club of Bulgaria, which operates from Sofia. PBC CSKA is the part of CSKA Sofia sports club. The club has own many tournaments for Bulgaria, and has been the Bulgarian Cup owner for 18 times.
