These musicians will be remembered forever for their talent. In the period of 1960s, the TV music festivals have played a major role in promoting many musicians of Sao Paulo. The song 'Arrastao' won the first prize in the festival in 1965. The song was sung by Elis Regina.
Some other notable singers of Sao Paulo were Chico Buarque and Jair Rodrigues. Adoniran Barbosa, a renowned musician of Sao Paulo, blended Italian accent with the Brazilian one and gave birth to a different musical trend.
