Television, radio, newspapers and magazines are an important part of Gomel Media. Media in Gomel takes active part in highlighting the burning issues of the city.
Newspapers are an important part of Gomel Media and the city has nearly twenty three newspapers circulated throughout. Gomel publishes regional newspaper,a city newspaper and twenty one district papers. Pravada and Dniapriovets are the oldest newspapers and published since 1917.Newspapers are also issued by industrial enterprises,educational organizations,radio and television media.Independent papers are also issued in Gomel. The Palessye and the Neftianik Polesya are the two major magazines of the city.

The National television and the Radio company in Gomel have local branches. Gomel television has its own logo ,which it acquired in1999.Presently it is an independent broadcaster of various channels. Now there are more than thirty television channels in Gomel and this is the result of the introduction of MMDS for cable channels. Gomel Regional Branch has started a new channel Lad. Lad,which broadcasts various programs to nearly 80% of Gomel.
Gomeloblpochta in Gomel is the biggest distributer of printed mass media.”Reporter”,”Family Matters”, “Neigbors”, “Moments of Eternity”, and ”Flourish of Time” are some of the main programs of the channel and watched by large majority of people in Gomel.
The government has taken initiatives to improve all the sections of Gomel Media .
