Lev Semenovich Vugotsky's career started as a teacher later on he established a research laboratory at the Gomel Teacher's College. Here he began his research on psychology. In 1924, he made his most famous presentation in the Second All Russian Psychoneurological Congress held at Leningrad. Kornilov and Luria was so pleased by Vugotsky's presentation on psychological and reflexological investigations that they gave him the charge to restructure the Psychological Institute of Moscow.
His main area of interests was on education, development psychology and psychopathology. This Russian psychologist later on developed the popular socio cultural theory. His theory and proximal development zone concept inspired many researchers.
Mind in Society is one of the popular books of Vygotsky. Stephen Toulmin, a noted scholar stated that Vygotsky's books contains great contemporary relevance. Most of Vygotsky's works were based on the social constructive and Marxist theories.
The Russian Revolution was supported by Vygotsky because he believed that socialism can set up a classless society in Russia.
